Um, that's not Cornwall
Jack Whitehall has joked that ‘someone’s getting fired’ after producers on his latest Netflix series mixed up Cornwall and the Caribbean.
In Fatherhood With My Father, impressive drone footage shows the azure seas and verdant mountains of Antigua and Barbuda.
Only problem is, it was supposed to illustrate the comedian’s visit to Falmouth on the southern tip of England.
In fact, the footage used was of Falmouth Harbour on Antigua Island – and is the first result you get when searching for stock video of ‘Falmouth’.
The mistake was spotted by a local resident who told the Cornwall Live website: ‘Someone from the production team has obviously not done their due diligence and submitted a stock photo of some random port town which is not Falmouth. And not even anywhere in Cornwall or the UK for that matter.’
The viewer added: ‘I feel slightly misrepresented by Mr Whitehall and his team. For a large budget production on Netflix, I would expect them to do better than this.’
After seeing the news story, Whitehall posted a crying with laughter emoji on X adding: ‘Oops. Someone’s getting fired in the morning. Using shots of Barbados and trying to pass them off as Cornwall’ – although of course he was 300 miles out, too, by picking Barbados not Antigua.

The error came in the second episode, in which the stand-up and his dad Michael visited Cornwall to meet Ameca, an AI-powered robot. The show featured correct images of the Cornish Falmouth to set up the scene, below, but the Caribbean version when they left.
