Joe Lycett backs Suella Braverman's anti-refugee rhetoric

Joe Lycett has offered to personally check that anyone seeking asylum in the UK on the grounds of being gay is telling the truth.

In an hilarious open letter, the comic has mocked Suella Braverman’s for saying that fearing persecution due to sexuality should not be enough to gain protection under international law.

The Home Secretary was widely criticised for her comments, then claimed the likes of Elton John were virtue-signalling out-of-touch elites for opposing her.

Now Lycett, who has previously spoken of being a ‘very right-wing comedian’ has posted a tongue-in-cheek letter praising Braverman’s stance and disagreeing with any ‘woke likely-nonces’ who challenge her’.

Coming up with a plan to  expose ‘fake sausage-noshers’, he addd that: ‘I am vehemently against people pretending to be gay simply to achieve a better life, despite that being exactly what I did to progress in showbusiness’.
