Elliot Steel issues a content warning after two people pass out in his Edinburgh Fringe show

comedyElliot Steel has had to put a trigger warning in his  Edinburgh Fringe show after two people fainted while hearing a graphic description of a nasty jiu-jitsu injury.

One of them, Matt Johnson – a Labour party councillor from County Durham – posted: ‘ Great first day of EdFringe. Special thanks to Elliot Steel, whose show was so funny for the first 50 minutes that I passed out in the front row. No, seriously. Thanks to him, my fellow audience members and the staff for making sure I was OK!’

Steel joked: ‘I’ve currently made more people unconscious with my stand-up comedy than I have with my Jiu Jitsu, which isn’t ideal.’

The routine comes in his show Love And Hate Speech, which is on at Underbelly Cowgate at 9.55pm. Here’s another extract:
