BBC Three's Wreck becomes a Fortnite game
Fortnite users can now play a game based on BBC Three’s horror-comedy Wreck.
The experience has been made as part of Fortnite Creative, which allows anyone to devise their own missions.
The Wreck game puts players into a murder-mystery set aboard the cruise ship Sacramentum, as in the TV series. They are assigned a faction and have to complete their tasks whilst avoiding being eliminated. Meanwhile, a detective on board must figure out who the hunter is and send them to the brig before it's too late.
BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell said: ‘We’re always looking for creative new ways to push BBC Three into brand new territories, so it’s a real delight to expand the world of Wreck on to Fortnite.’
Noemi Spanos, of programme-makers Euston Films added: ‘The tone of the show absolutely lends itself to high octane game play and the cruise ship is the perfect confined setting to play within. We can’t wait for players to come on board.’
To enter the Murder Mystery - Sacramentum Slasher experience, go to Fortnite Creative and enter the code 5423-3686-4108 in the Discover tab.
A campaign to promote the game will be kicked off with a live Twitch session with
streamers Talia Mar, Gee Nelly and Freya Nightingale at 8pm tomorrow.
The game was devised by ITV-backed Metaverse studio, whose managing director Rhys Hancock said: ‘This dynamic multi-platform campaign is laser focused on helping the BBC develop deeper relationships with harder to reach gaming native audiences where they spend their time.’
