Stars of the format's global editions gather in Cannes

Taskmasters of the world unite!  And try to sell the show to other countries…

Show creator Alex Horne was joined by four international Taskmasters and five other sidekicks at the Mipcom TV festival in Cannes yesterday.

Programme-makers Avalon threw a party on the French Rivera to promote their show at the four-day global market for entertainment content.

At the bash were stars of the show from Portugal, Norway,  Finland, Croaia and New Zealand.

The gathering comes after Australia became the latest nation to make their own home-grown version with comic Tom Gleeson on the big throne and Tom Cashman as his sidekick on the  Network 10 version,

Other versions have been made in Belgium, Sweden, Spain, Denmark, Quebec – and a short-lived US version fronted by Reggie Watts.
