Trump supporter hurled beer at a comic
A Donald Trump supporter who threw a beer can at a comedian on stage could be facing criminal charges.
Footage of Ariel Elias dealing with a heckler has gone viral, after the exchange ended with the projectile being flung from the audience and hitting the wall behind her.
But Elias did not lose her cool, and picked up the can and chugged the remaining beer.
The owner of the venue – Uncle Vinnie's Comedy Club in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey – identified the can-thrower as the husband of the heckler. Dino Ibelli told the Insider website that he has filed a police report and would press charges.
Footage from the club on Saturday night shows a woman in the crowd asking Elias: ‘Did you vote for Donald Trump?’
The comic responded: ‘No. Why would you ask me that in here, knowing I am the only Jew in this room? Are you trying to get me killed?'
She tried to defuse the situation by saying: ‘Everybody vote for who you want to vote for. I don’t care who you voted for I’m just happy we’re all here together.’
The audience member then replied: ‘So you voted for Biden… I could just tell by your jokes you voted for Biden.
Elias shot back: ‘But I could tell by the fact that you're still talking when nobody wants you to that you voted for Trump.’
She then got asked the audience to applaud if they wanted the woman to shut up – and they obliged. Then the can was hurled.

In a subsequent interview with Newsweek, Elias said: ‘I thought it was the female heckler who threw it, and was honestly kind of impressed she had such an arm. It wasn't until after the show that I found out it was the guy with her. As a feminist, I was a little disappointed it wasn't her.’
