Vic Reeves ends up in the knackers' yard
Vic Reeves creator Jim Moir is to appear in All Creatures Great And Small.
The comic has a guest role as Jeff Mallock, the local knacker yard owner, in two episodes, airing this Thursday and next.
He appears in a plot involving influential farmer Isaac Cranford, who leans on vet James Herriot – played by Nicholas Ralph – to fiddle the paperwork over a dead cow so he can reap a financial benefit.
Cranford is also played by a comedian, Mike Harding, who rose to fame in the 1970s with his comic folk songs. He tweeted that filming with Moir was ‘great craic’.
Moir is retiring his Vic Reeves alter-ego next year following the released of the Vic & Bob film The Glove concentrate on his passion for art, including hosting a Sky Arts series on painting birds.
All Creatures Great and Small airs on Channel 5 at 9pm on Thursdays, then streamed on My5.
