...and it's all down to Inside No 9

Diane Morgan has stockpiled 500 adult nappies – thanks to Inside No 9.

The comic is one of the guest stars in the forthcoming seventh series of Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith’s acclaimed anthology series.

And speaking on the Graham Norton Show tonight, the Philomena Cunk star reveals that her scenes are shot on a pedalo in the middle of a lake.

She was warned that she should make sure she’d been to the toilet before setting off, because once on the water ‘you’re not coming back for hours’.

‘ I was terrified because my bladder is the size of a walnut, ‘ she said. ‘So I ordered some adult nappies because I was so scared of being that one person that needed the loo.

‘I thought I was getting a pack of 12 but in fact I got a box of 500 – they are still in the garage.  I have to say, I never deployed them.’

Morgan is on the BBC One show to talk about the second series of her comedy Mandy, in which her character bounces between low-paid jobs.

‘I’ve had tons of terrible jobs,’ she recalls. ‘The worst one was packing worming tablets for 10 hours a day.  It was awful.

‘The best one was being a dental nurse – it was a great job, but I did knock someone’s tooth out!’
