Comedian’s gig interrupted by couple having sex

Zoom gigs come with all sorts of added challenges for a comedian.

And now Tom Mayhew has revealed a new one: members of the audience having sex as he was trying to entertain them.

The stand-up has just released a video showing his shock when he realised what was going on.

'Can you hear that?' he asked the rest of the online crowd. 'It sounded like someone having sex.'

Others on the call are heard to concur, before Mayhew added: 'At first it felt like they just kept agreeing with what I was saying. 'I've had some heckles in my time!'

The noises stopped after the comic drew attention to them, prompting him to comment: 'I've done my job - to stop people having sex!'

The gig took place in April, but Mayhew has only just posted the video, saying on Twitter: 'The joy of Zoom gigs is that they feel more intimate, but this is a bit much to be honest.'

Clearly the amorous punters were turned on by the content of Mayhew's set. He was talking about biscuits at the time...
