Comic cameos on tonight's episode in Australia
Russell Brand is to make his cameo appearance on Australian soap Neighbours tonight.
A short preview clip shared on Instagram shows the comic popping into Harold's cafe.
Jarrod (played by Ryan Moloney) bumps into the comic, who’s playing himself. ‘What are you doing here?’ he asks.
As cheesy ‘mystic’ sitar music is played on the soundtrack, the comedian explains: ‘Touring the world, spreading the world, light, love, limitless. I’m a writer. I love festivity, synchronicity…’
Brand filmed his scenes earlier this year as he passed through Melbourne on a world tour.
Executive producer Jason Herbison said they invited him on after learning he was a fan. ’As it turned out, we were filming an upcoming storyline that gave an organic reason for him to pass through Ramsay Street and we're not just about his comedic talent - his literary genius plays a huge part,' he told the Herald Sun.
The episode airs in Australia on 10 Peach at 6.30pm tonight and on Channel 5 in the UK on Monday July 6.
