Johnny Vegas turns delivery man
Vulnerable residents of St Helens may see a family figure dropping off their essential supplies: Johnny Vegas.
News that the 49-year-old comedian had volunteered to help a local group deliver food and medicines was broken by an unlikely source: Russell Crowe.
In a video posted on Twitter, the Gladiator star told residents of the Merseyside town how they could get help from the Steve Prescott Foundation.
He explained: 'D'day folks, how you doing? This is a message on behalf of my old mate Johnny Vegas.
'If you're in the St Helens area, if you're having trouble getting food deliveries from your local supermarket. If you're NHS staff - a key worker, elderly, isolating, vulnerable, call this number 01744881881.
'One of the delivery workers is going to be Johnny Vegas though, so expect to lose every second or third biscuit."
Crowe then tipped the camera to display his collection of Bafta and Oscars and commented in a British accent: 'What's that back there? Oh look at that, that's fancy.'
