This fundraising idea sounds really bad...
The coronavirus semi-quarantine could test the most loving of relationships – and that includes comedian couple Bobby Mair and Harriet Kemsley.
Mair admits that he has habits that annoy his partner, not least his 'terrible' singing... which is what he'd love to do to get through the crisis.
'She has banned me from her car for it and my rendition of The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow made her cry tears of misery on the streets of Streatham in 2014,' he admits. 'I really LOVE to sing and my favourite musical is Hamilton but she has banned me from singing it near her.'
But they came up with a compromise: Kemsley said he could sing the entire soundtrack of Hamilton if he raised £200 for food bank charity The Trussell Trust.
However, if she thought that was a challenging target, she reckoned without the generosity of Sara Pascoe, who immediately pledged £140...enough to hit the milestone on top of earlier donations.
So now not only will Kemsley have to suffer the 'extraordinary rendition' of the soundtrack, the whole world will too as Mair will live stream the singing YouTube, probably on Friday, followed by a 'shorter, more bearable' highlight real.
And they are still seeking donations via JustGiving. Mair said: ' Obviously A LOT of people are struggling. If you can give, AMAZING. If you can't give that's completely understandable but if you want give us a like, share or retweet to help notify the people who can.'
