Have a drink on Eric!
The venue where Eric Morecambe gave his last performance has renamed in his honour.
The comedian collapsed in his dressing room after his appearance at The Roses Theatre in Tewksbury on May 27 1984.
He was rushed to Cheltenham General Hospital, where he died in the early hours of the following morning at the age of 58.
Theatre chiefs previously named its conference room after him, but from now on the bar will be known as ‘Eric’s bar’ following a major facelift at the venue.
A number of Morecambe-style spectacles have also been stuck to the front of the bar.
