'Weird Al' gets a Hollywood star
Weird Al Yankovic has received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Unveiling his tribute yesterday, the song parodist made a reference to the attacks on Donald Trump's nearby star on the same boulevard.
'Please don't pickaxe my star,' he said. 'I know it's all the rage these days, but that's not cool. Unless at some point in the future, I do something unfathomably monstrous and evil in which case, sure, fine, OK, go ahead.'
Until then, he urged: Limit yourself to spitting and urinating. Have some class, people.'
Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, said: 'Weird Al has single-handedly created an industry of parody. His fans have been waiting for this star for a very long time. We are excited to honour this very funny man.'
In July, a vandal smashed Trump's star with a pickaxe. The West Hollywood City Council have since resolve to remove the star, although they have no jurisdiction over the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
