This Country's Daisy Cooper recalls an awkward audition

In BBC Three comedy This Country, Daisy Cooper plays the naive Kerry Mucklowe... and it appears she is not much more worldly-wise in real life.

The new Bafta-winner has revealed today that while trying to make it as an actress, she once replied to an advert seeking an exotic dancer in the belief it was dancing ‘with fruit on your head’. 

Instead, she walked in to a room to be ‘confronted with about 30 topless women’. 

But she went ahead with the audition anyway and ended up French-kissing the pole as Ghetto Romance by Damage played. 

‘I’m one of those people who will always do something just out of politeness,’ she told the Sunday Times.
