Paul Tonkinson completes London marathon in under 3hrs

Paul Tonkinson is staking a claim to being the fastest comedian – ‘offstage at least’ – after completing the London Marathon in under three hours.

The 47-year-old completed yesterday’s  course in 2hrs 59mins and 21sec.

Times of other comedians who took part are:

Rob Deering, 45: 3hrs 26mis 46 sec

Ed Gamble, 31: 3hrs 39mins 18sec

Alistair Barrie, who is also in his late 40s: 4hrs 13min 46 seconds. 

Earlier, we reported how stand-up Sully O’Sullivan will be running the Liverpool Marathon – as a three-legged race.
