She's the reason I started getting my balls out on stage...

Dan Wye picks their comedy favourites

Dan Wye – who previously performed as Séayoncé – is making their Edinburgh Fringe debut in their own name and here chooses their Perfect Playlist of comedy favourites.

Lucy McCormick: Triple Threat

This show truly changed me, Lucy is one of my favourite performers of all time she sets her own rules in the space and the chaos is always magical.

It was after seeing this show that I decided to be more naked on stage as Séayoncé, I started doing a crystal ball joke where I just got my balls out on stage… that is art.

Cat Cohen The Twist...She's Gorgeous

Cat Cohen is one of my favourite comedy minds ever. She is glamorous, outrageously funny and her shows are always so live and interactive in the best way. The speed of her brain is insane. Seeing her shows live is actually heaven especially for the gals and gays.

Sister Act 1 and 2

Like many gays kids I was obsessed with Whoopi Goldberg, I think it's a rite of passage before you come out the closet. Is there a stronger comedic arc than a Las Vegas showgirl undercover as Nun... absolutely not. Whoopi if you're reading this message me babe x

Blindboy Podcast

This is my safe space; Blindboy is such an incredible storyteller and the things he researches are always so interesting. The episode about boot cut jeans should win a Pulitzer.

His soft Irish accent will keep the demons at bay.  This podcast is perfect if you've taken too many shrooms and you feel like you've lost your mind and need something to realign your chakras.

The Office US

This is the only TV series I have watched multiple times, it is everything. Steve Carrell is a comedy god; I can't tell if me saying this is giving straight man vibes, but I actually don't care. It's like depression pasta... an essential to survive the torment of being alive.

Trixie and Katya Unhhhh

Trixie and Katya are my favourite comedy duo. I have religiously watched their YouTube series Unhhhh for years. It is so funny, and I truly love these women, slay the house down Boots pharmacy yes momma werk!

It's one of my highlights of the week which should also reflect the horrors of my existence that a YouTube series is one of the highlights.

• Dan Wye: Am I Sam Smith? is at Pleasance Courtyard at 9.55pm
