13th year for South London event

South London’s Banana Cabaret has announced the line-up for their 2025 Balham Comedy Festival.

The event, now in its 13th year, features the likes of Rhys James, Shaparak Khorsandi (pictured)  and Ria Lina.

It takes place from July 4 to 12 at The Bedford in Balham where the club has been running for 42 years.

Dave Vickers, who produces the show with comic r John Moloney, said: ‘Imagine trying to cherry-pick 24 individuals from the bewildering array of comic talent that’s crossed our stage over the last 42 years! I’m particularly happy to have on the bill the great Marcus Brigstocke with his full tour show, Vitruvian Mango.’

As well as  the solo shows, the festival features Best of Banana Cabaret line-up bills featuring the likes of  Rachel Parris, Kae Kurd and  Rachel Fairburn.

Banana Cabaret is second only to Downstairs At The King’s Head in Crouch End as being London’s longest-running comedy club in the same venue.
