End of the line for Bill Hader's hitman

Acclaimed dark comedy Barry is coming to an end, US broadcaster HBO has announced.

The show – which airs on Sky Comedy in the UK – stars Bill Hader as an assassin in Los Angeles who dreams of becoming an actor. 

The eight-episode fourth series, which premieres in the US on April 16, will be the last.

Hader co-created the series with Alec Berg and the cast also includes Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Michael Irby, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg.

Barry has received 44 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, while Hader twice winning won outstanding lead actor in a comedy series.
