 Phil Henderson takes title

Phil Henderson has been named West End New Act of the Year.

The stand-up triumphed at the  final at the Phoenix Bar near Oxford Circus in central London.

Carla Gordon was named runner-up by the judges, with Sam Coade third, as chosen by an audience vote.

The other finalists were Oliver Graham, Natalie Durkin, Joshua Bethania, Nalin Dissanayake, Frances Keyton, Katie McLeod, Alex Beighton, Bez Ely and Marty Gleeson.

Organisers say  the competition was conceived 'to give a boost to comedians who have been going under three years who had found their development hampered by the pandemic'.

The judges were agent Hannah Layton, comedian Robyn Perkins and producer Matt Arnold.
