2022 Olivier Award nominees announced
The Shark Is Broken and Pride and Prejudice* (*Sort Of) are among the shows nominated for best entertainment or comedy play at this year’s Oliver Awards.
Also shortlisted in the category is The Choir of Man, and Pantoland at the Palladium – a socially distanced celebration of the art form that featured Julian Clary and comedy ventriloquist Paul Zerdin.
Cabaret leads the nominations for the leading awards for West End Theatre with 11; while the stage adaptation of Life Of Pi received nine nods including best new play – making it the most nominated non-musical show.
Comedian Liz Carr was shortlisted for best actress in a supporting role for her part in The Normal Heart at the National Theatre, alongside two cast members of Pride and Prejudice* (*Sort Of) – Christina Gordon and Tori Burgess – and Akiya Henry for Macbeth at the Almeida Theatre.
2:22 A Ghost Story, written by former comedian Danny Robins, is also up for best new play.
