Comic writes, directs and stars in Old Dads

Bill Burr is to write, direct and star in a new comedy movie Old Dads, about  middle-aged parenting.

The comic will star alongside Boardwalk Empire’s Bobby Cannavale and Bokeem Woodbine from Fargo as three friends who sell their company to a millennial, then find themselves facing a world they struggle to understand.

Burr, who previously created the animated Netflix comedy series F For Family, told Hollywood website Deadline: ‘This comedy is based on my own and my co-writer, Ben Tishler’s, lives. [Producer] Miramax has been awesome to work with and I think people are really going to like this movie.’

Production kicked off in Los Angeles this week.
