Tonight on Live at The Apollo, Loyiso Gola introduces comedians Scott Bennett and Helen Bauer.
Who is Loyiso Gola?
Born in the Cape Town township of Gugulethu in 1983, Loyiso Gola cut his teeth on the South African stand-up circuit before coming to prominence as co-creator and anchor of the late-night satirical news television series Late Nite News on e.tv in 2010, which was nominated for an International Emmy Award for best comedy series.
He is now based part-time in the UK and his previous appearance on Live At The Apollo, in 2018, went viral with its jokes teasing Britain for Brexit.
Earlier this year he released his first Netflix special – having previously appeared on the platform’s Comedians of the World strand. Unlearning was the first the streaming service ever filmed in Africa.

Who is Scott Bennett?
Yorkshire-born Scott Bennett is one of the hardest-working comics on the circuit, since starting stand-up in 2009. He was runner-up of English Comedian Of The Year in 2014, named ‘one to watch by Chortle in 2018 and 2019
His profile grew during Covid lockdown as he presented a weekly topical show Stand up from the Shed from his Nottingham back garden. It helped earn him the accolade of best act at the Comics' Comic awards.
He has supported Rob Brydon on tour and appeared on Radio 4’s News Quiz, Now Show, among other shows.

Who is Helen Bauer?
Helen Bauer, started making comedy sketches in London and Berlin, when she lived there, and came to prominence as a finalist in the 2018 BBC New Comedy Award.
Her debut show, Little Miss Baby Angel Face, was nominated for best newcomer in the 2019 Dave's Edinburgh Comedy Award. Previous TV appearances include include the BBC’s Stand Up For Live Comedy and Edinburgh Nights and Dave’s Hypothetical.
She also hosts the podcast Trusty Hogs with fellow comedian Catherine Bohart and Daddy Look At Me with Rosie Jones.
