Two-year contract to develop new shows

Jack Whitehall has signed an exclusive two-year deal with production company Banijay UK to develop unscripted projects.

The comedian has previously worked with the firm’s subsidiary  Tiger Aspect to make the Netflix series Travels With My Father  and the BBC Three sitcom Bad Education.

Whitehall said: ‘I’ve got so many ideas that I’m delighted to be partnering with Banijay UK so we can get them made and out into the world.’

The new deal with the comedian’s company Jackpot will  ‘create ideas for local broadcasters and global platforms in blue-chip documenariess, panel shows, events or returning series.’

Whitehall will feature both on and off-screen on the pojects

Banijay chief executive Lucinda Hicks said: ‘We have a great relationship with Jack and are thrilled to have signed this deal with Jackpot.

‘As well as being a brilliant and hugely versatile performer, Jack, as well as Ricard Ackerman, who will be heading up the creative team, have an astute sense of what makes great TV and how to engage with audiences around the world.’

Last week it was revealed that Jackpot’s assets rose £1.6million in the last financial year to £14.6million, according to Companies House records.
