Comedy Store signs three new acts

First contracts in three years for management arm

The talent agency arm of the Comedy Store has announced its first new signings in three years.

Kate Cheka and Chin Wang become both the only women and the only comedians of colour on the firm’s roster, and have joined alongside Michael May, an established MC on the circuit.

Cheka is a British comedian formerly based in Berlin where she also promoted gigs. She opened for US comic Sam Jay when she played the city, and has performed in India, Sweden and Nepal, at Kathmandu’s first comedy festival. She has now returned to the UK and was a Funny Women semi-finalist this year.

Wang grew up in China and lives in the UK, where she has been performing since 2019, both in clubs and online.

Agent Simon Mason said: ‘After the last 18 months we are overjoyed to be working with three of the most interesting new voices in comedy. We are focused on nurturing new talent and these performers are the perfect addition to our already world class client roster.’

Other acts represented by Comedy Store Management include Paul Tonkinson, Paul Thorne, Mick Ferry and Mike Gunn – all of whom regularly perform at the Store’s flagship venues and tour shows.
