London's Newsrevue returns

Topical show back after its first closure in 40 years

London’s long-running satirical show NewsRevue is to return to the Canal Cafe Theatre from July 15, producers have announced.

The Covid shutdown was the first time the show has had to close in its 40-year history. Alumni over that time include The League of Gentlemen, Sara Pascoe, Bill Bailey, Saskia Reeves and Michelle Collins.

Producer Emma Taylor said: ‘It was such a Catch-22. NewsRevue was locked out of its home for the first time in its world record-breaking 40-year history and not able to comment live on the most groundbreaking news of our times.

‘Like so many others, we pivoted and created a podcast. But nothing beats the live shows and we’re bursting at the seams to explode back onto the stage and "revue"  the news as only we can.’

The show runs every Thursday to Saturday at 9.30pm and every Sunday at 9pm.
