Madeleine MacMahon scoops new act title
Actor and new comedian Madeleine MacMahon has won this year’s Max Turner Prize run by London’s Cavendish Arms venue.
She takes home £250 after triumphing in last night’s virtual final – having secured her place there as a wildcard.
Even before the final, she praised the ‘amazing community’ she found at the venue’s Comedy Virgins new act night.
The other finalists were Kate Cheka, Louisa Keight, Kate Martin, Josh Chiswick, Amy Walsh, Phil Henderson, Chloe Driver, Phil Green and Troy Hewitt.
Here is MacMahon performing at the Cavendish Arms before lockdown.
Sharing my love today for the amazing @CavendishArms and the amazing community I've found at @ComedyVirgins this past year. To talk about the important things. Like clothes. @IMLAgency #co_opcrew #standup #comedy #funnywomen pic.twitter.com/NBNv7iKoX6
