West End residency for improv troupe

Improv show Austentatious has announced a new weekly residency at the Fortune Theatre in London’s West End next year.

The show, which creates an entire Jane Austen story based on a title suggested by the audience will play for 30 dates from February 24 to July 27.

Previous ‘lost’ masterpieces enacted by the team have included Dirty Darcying, The Bodice Guard, Hold Me Closer Tiny Darcy and We Will Frock You.

Their current Christmas residency at the Fortune concludes on December 16. Then in the new season there will be a show each Monday, except Easter Monday, plus Sundays April 19 and June 7 from to  July 19 (not June 28)

In a statement, the troupe said: ‘We are delighted to be returning to our London home at the Fortune Theatre in the West End for another season of absurd Regency adventures featuring willful heroines, haughty gentlemen, wayward vicars, and even more universally acknowledged truths. Prepare your carriages!’

The cast includes Cariad LloydRachel Parris, Joseph Morpurgo, Amy Cooke-Hodgson, Andrew Hunter Murray,  Graham Dickson, Charlotte Gittins and Daniel Nils Roberts.

The 2020 residency will also feature a range of guest performers
