Original Good Omens radio adaptation released on LP

But you'll need deep pockets!

As an epic adaptation of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman’s comic fantasy Good Omens prepares to launch on Amazon Prime, an earlier radio version is to be released on vinyl.

The new TV version, starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant as an angel and demon trying to prevent Armaggedon, drops online on Friday ahead of a BBC Two release at a later date.

But five years ago the sprawling novel was made into a Radio 4 series with Mark Heap as  the heavenly Aziraphale and Peter Serafinowicz as the sinister Crowley – and now this is being released as a limited edition, four-disc vinyl set, priced £99.999

Ben Stanley, of the record label Demon Music Group said: ‘It’s very exciting to be announcing this brilliant new product as fans get ready to enjoy the new TV adaption. We’re pleased to offer the original BBC Radio 4 production on these beautiful pieces of heavyweight vinyl.’

The cast also includes Josie Lawrence as Agnes Nutter (the same role she reprises in the new version), Colin Morgan as Newton Pulsifier and Charlotte Ritchie as Anathema Device plus Phil Davis, Harry Lloyd, Paterson Joseph, Rachael Stirling, Jim Norton, Nicholas Briggs, Neil Maskell, Steve Toussaint, Simon Jones, Julia Deakin, Mitch Benn, Louise Brealey, Mark Benton and  cameo appearances by Gaiman and Pratchett.

The discs will be released on July 12, but can be ordered now here.
