Still Game adds MORE shows

Glasgow residency expands again

Three more shows have been added to the farewell performances of Still Game.

Ford Kiernan, Greg Hemphill and the rest of the cast will perform additional gags at Glasgow’s 10,000-seat SEC Hydro at 7.30pm on Friday October 11 and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday October 12.

Last week  an initial five shows were announced which sold so fast another five were immediately added, covering the two preceding weekends.

The stage shows will be the final farewell for Jack, Victor and their pals as the  ninth and final series of the TV series has been filmed and is expected to be screened on BBC One in the new year.

Kiernan, who plays Jack Jarvis, said: ‘We decided a reasonable amount of time ago that we wanted to retire the characters permanently from television and theatre. And there’s no doubt about it this time, Still Game is finished. There won’t be another comeback in a few years. This isn’t Sinatra.’

The team previously played the Hydro in 2014 – which promoted the sitcom’s return to the screen after a long hiatus – and in 2017.

The cast also includes Paul Riley, Jane McCarry, Mark Cox, Sanjeev Kohli, Gavin Mitchell and James Martin.

Tickets for the new shows will go on sale at 10am on Friday.
