About the humiliations in her career

Sue Perkins has announced her first full-length stand-up show in nearly 20 years.

The former Bake-Off host and Taskmaster contestant will be playing more than 40 British cities in the first quarter of next year.

Her show is entitled The Eternal Shame of Sue Perkins and is described as ‘a hilarious treatise on stigma, humiliation, and misunderstanding’ drawn from ‘unlikely happenings from a career in the spotlight’

Perkins  began her comedy career in comedy in the late 1980s while a student at Cambridge – where she became president of the Footlights society – and started taking shows with Mel Giedroyc to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from 1991.

She has performed two solo  stand-up comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fring: Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2006 in 2005, and The Disappointing Second Show in 2006.

The new tour kicks off on January 14 at Chichester Festival Theatre.
