People's Choice poll opens soon

Sofia Lambis, a second-year English undergraduate at Bristol University, has become our penultimate Student Comedy Award finalist.

The 19-year-old, originally from Epsom in Surrey, won the last semi-final at The Gaffe comedy club in Bristol last night.

One more place in the final – and in a showcase session at the Latitude Festival in Suffolk in July – is up for grabs in a people’s vote. Video clips from the last semis will be posted later this week, with the chance for you to select your favourite.

Previous winners and finalists of the competition have included Joe Lycett, Phil Wang, Jamali Maddix, Ed Gamble, Chris Ramsey, Richard Gadd, Laura Lexx, Iain Stirling, Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal.

This year’s champion will receive £1,000 with £250 for the runner-up.
