Shamed comic announces Ridiculous tour

Louis CK is returning to the UK for five nights of shows next year.

Although the comic’s projects were all cancelled following the sexual misconduct exposed by the New York Times in 2017, he has continued to tour and release specials dependently, with his 2020 show Sincerely Louis CK winning a Grammy Award.

His new tour is called Ridiculous and will play the Eventim Apollo in London, Cardiff’s New Theatre, Usher Hall in Edinburgh and the Waterfront Hall in Belfast – as well as Leisureland in Galway – in late January/early February as part of a world tour.

After more than 100 US dates this year, CK will also visit Spain, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, India, Thailand, the Philippines and Japan in 2026.

In an email to fans, he said: ‘Simply, I’m hitting the road again and staying out there for a long while.  I am, after all, a professional stand-up comedian.’ 

Five women told the New York Times about CK’s habit of masturbating in front of them, or asking if he could. The comic quickly admitted the stories were true, saying that while he initially thought ‘it was okay because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first’ he conceded that as a more famous name in comedy he had power of the women which he ‘wielded irresponsibly’.

He later complained the scandal cost him approximately $35million (£27million) in lost income.

Last year, the documentary Sorry/Not Sorry about his misconduct was released. In it, one of the whistleblowers, Megan Koester, spoke about having to abandon her comedy, telling the film-makers: ‘Not only did he get away with it, he’s like, rubbing it in all of our faces,’
