Tim Minchin announces 2025 tour
Tim Minchin has announced a UK tour to mark 20 years since he arrived on the British comedy scene.
His ironically titled Songs The World Will Never Hear show charts how a Perth cabaret pianist built a career as an acclaimed musical comedian, author, actor, straight musician and composer of hit stage musicals.
Minchin said: ‘Incredibly, many of my UK fans have been by my side for two decades. They have never flinched as I’ve turned corners and reinvented myself, always engaging open-heartedly with whatever I have to offer.
‘I’m the luckiest artist on the planet, and I can’t wait to be back to deliver a big joyous show, spanning the whole bloody thing.’
The description of the show says: ‘From comedy classics to tear-jerking Christmas songs, from boobs to existentialism, from fast fingering to free will, there’s nothing quite like an evening in the company of Tim Minchin.’
Minchin’s last tour, Back – which came after a seven-year hiatus from touring, much of it spent working on the scrapped animated film Larrikins – played to more than 130,000 fans across the UK and Australia.
The Songs The World Will Never Hear tour kicks off on June 4 in London, at Soho Theatre’s new Walthamstow venue, and will span 18 cities. Tickets go on sale at midday on Friday.
