Hosting a Top Of The Pops spoof for Brighton band Nature TV

Alex Horne appears in the new music video from Brighton indie band Nature TV.

The Taskmaster creator – and frontman of his own band, The Horne Section – is seen hosting a spoof vintage edition of Top Of The Pops, as he introduces the band’s new single, One Step Forward

He said: ‘I’d never been in a music video before so I said yes instantly. I have a pretty big ego, and also Nature TV sent me a nice T-shirt so it ticked all the boxes. 

‘I loved Top of the Pops as a kid, it was unmissable Thursday-evening viewing - it turns out some of the hosts weren’t necessarily ideal but I’m still glad I’ve now got footage of me presenting the show. That’s another ambition ticked off. Next, I’ve got to score a free-kick for Liverpool.

‘The shoot was everything I thought it might be. I was given a can of Coca-Cola, I got to listen to the single several times in a row while watching the band play along to the single and nod their heads and look cool.

'I got to hang out with the band. I was basically in the band. It was a good day.  Also, I bought a new jumper on my way to the station after.

‘It was pretty similar to shooting Taskmaster. The crew were small and nimble. We moved fast and changed things on the fly. We had snacks.’

One Step Forward is out today on indie label Heist Or Hit and comes from Nature TV's debut album Unlucky For Some.

Bass player Josh Eriskin said: ‘Making the video for One Step Forward was an absolute dream! It was incredible to have Little Alex Horne in it as we’re all huge fans, we still don’t know why he said yes! To also have some of our lovely fans get involved really warmed our hearts, they bought so much energy all day.’

The rest of the band comprises Guy Bangham on vocals and guitar, lead guitarist and backing vocalist James Hunt and Zal Jones on drums.
