BBC Scotland to showcase nation's stand-ups

Special to air this Christmas

Some of Scotland’s top comedians are to take part in a stand-up showcase to be broadcast on the BBC this Christmas.

Christopher MacArthur-Boyd, pictured, hosts the show, titled Scotland Stands Up 2024, which will be recorded in Edinburgh next Tuesday.

Also on the bill will be Iain Stirling, Susan Riddell, Stephen Buchanan  and Elaine Malcolmson.

The BBC says: ‘This hilarious night of comedy brings the best comedians from Scotland together for a one-off special, to be broadcast as part of BBC Scotland's festive celebrations.’

It will be recorded in front of a live audience at the 350-seater Church Hill Theatre in Morningside, a Category B listed church that was converted into a venue in the 1960s. Free tickets to the taping have already sold out.
