Brett Goldstein to star opposite J-Lo

In a new romcom he co-wrote

Brett Goldstein is to star opposite Jennifer Lopez in a new romcom movie called Office Romance.

The British comic and Ted Lasso star has created the script for the movie with Joe Kelly, a fellow writer on Apple’s hit football-club comedy.

Industry website Deadline reports that Netflix has won the rights to the film after a ‘hot bidding war’.

J-Lo, who is currently in the middle of divorcing Ben Affleck, has had two successful movies on the platform in recent months: The Mother and Atlas.

Both writers, as well as Lopez, will be producers on the series.

The news comes after Goldstein ’s latest romcom, All Of You, premiered at the recent Toronto International Film Festival.

In that movie, which is set in the near future, he stars opposite Imogen Poots as best friends who harbour an unspoken love for one another even after a test matches one of them up with their supposed soulmate.

He co-wrote it  with director William Bridges, who previously penned the Black Mirror episodes Shut Up And Dance and USS Callister.

The Wrap called it a 'winning rom-com with more heart than expected’, while Screenrant said his chemistry with Poots ‘sizzled’.

Goldstein has also just finished filming Hungarian filmmaker Kornél Mundruczó’s drama At the Sea alongside Amy Adams and Murray Bartlett.

He is also the co-creator  of the TV series Shrinking – whose stars include Harrison Ford and which returns to Apple TV+ for its second series next month.
