ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards announces 2024 shortlists

23 shows in the running for prizes

The nominees for the ISH Edinburgh Comedy Awards have been announced, just hours before the shortlist for the Fringe’s original comedy award.

A total of 13 shows are still in the running for best show, and 10 for best newcomer.

They are:

Each category comes with a £5,000 award, courtesy of sponsors Jones Bootmaker, with an additional panel prize to be announced with the rest of the winners on Friday night.

Head judge and producer Sarah Bowles said: ‘It has been incredibly difficult to cut the lists down this year, with so many simply outstanding shows, so yes I guess you could say we have long-ish short ISH lists this year.

‘But in the spirit of the awards, we are here to support as many artists as possible.'
