Sian Clifford to front Radio 4 Woman's Hour parody

Co-created by Lorna Rose Treen – a former producer on the real show

Sian Clifford - best known for playing Fleabag’s sister Claire – is to front a new Woman’s Hour parody on Radio 4.

She has been cast in the four-part series Time Of The Week, co-created by character comedian Lorna Rose Treen – who was a former producer on the real Women’s Hour,

Also in the cast is co-creator Jonathan Oldfield, Treen’s comedy partner, plus Ada Player Alice Cockayne, Aruhan Galieva, Em Prendergast, Jodie Mitchell, Mofé Akàndé, Sara Segovia.

Clifford, who will also be in the next series of Channel 4's religious cult comedy Everyone Else Burns, will play self-obsessed host Chloe Slack, who conducts surreal interviews with subjects such as the first woman to put her whole forearm into her mouth, an MP campaigning to ban the menopause and a woman who has had so much plastic surgery she now looks like a car.

The parody, originally announced in January, also features location reports and features, as well as panel discussions and voice notes from listeners.

It starts on July 6 and is made by DLT Entertainment, the production and management company that sponsors the best newcomer prize at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

The writing team also includes Alice Cockayne, Catherine Brinkworth, Jodie Mitchell, Priya Hall and Will Hughes.
