Peter Serafinowicz to host $1m Netflix game show

'A competition of strategy and alliances'

Peter Serafinowicz is to host a competition series for Netflix in which contestants can win $1 million.

With the working title Million Dollar Secret, the show gives one contestant the full prize from the outset. Then the other 11 rivals will hunt them down – and when the millionaire is eliminated, when the money moves to someone new.

Netflix explains: ‘When should they strike? Too soon and they become the target; too late and they may never get the money. Meanwhile, the millionaire can try to get rid of the cash if the heat becomes too much.

‘This is a game of strategy and alliances, where predators can become prey in the blink of an eye.’

American entertainment website Variety reports that the show will comprise eight 45-minute episodes, although no launch date has yet been announced.

Serafinowicz  – whose many credits include Guardians Of The Galaxy, Shaun Of The Dead and John Wick: Chapter 2  – is currently touring the UK with the business seminar The Call of Now, hosted by his Brian Butterfield alter-ego (tour dates). The character’s first book, There’s No Business Like BUSINESS!, is also available at the shows.

Million Dollar Secret will be made by London-based Wheelhouse UK.
