Eshaan Akbar announces 2025 tour
Eshaan Akbar has announced a new tour – a year in advance.
The stand-up will play 38 dates next year with show titled simply Live 2025, kicking off in Milton Keynes on February 6.
Akbar has previously worked as a banker, a policy adviser, a speechwriter and a journalist, which promoters say informs his ‘unique and insightful comedy’.
He said: ‘I’m doing another tour because it’s one way of creating more work for myself and to give you all something to do.
‘Last tour, I played to tens and tens of you, can’t wait for it be twenties and twenties of you this time round.
‘I can promise you, my show will be better than doing nothing - that’s a minimum guarantee. I’ve appeared in Animals Do The Funniest Things, you know.’
He modestly declined to mention he was also in Sex Education, playing Principal Lakhani, while other credits include QI, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and Mock the Week, where he was the first comedian of Bangladeshi heritage to take part. He is also a regular on hit podcast Have A Word with Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale.
Tickets for the new tour go on sale on Friday, except for the closing night – at London’s Hackney Empire on April 12 – which goes on sale on March 8.
