Tim Key joins the Chortle Comedy Book Festival
Tim Key has joined the line-up of next weekend's Chortle Comedy Book Festival.
The comic and poet will be the guest on the special episode of Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd's Weirdos Book Club being recorded at the event.
Key has just released his latest collection of verse, Chapters, described tongue-in-cheek as 'a Slim book of the crap he's been churning out over the past eighteen months. Poems about men getting stuck in webs, poems about the ancient city of Canterbury, poems about canoodling with a rose.'
Like his previous volumes, the new anthology has been beautifully designed by Emily Juniper.
Next Sunday's event at the British Museum in London also includes sessions from Ed Gamble, Lou Sanders and Doon Mackichan about their recent memoirs.
And in another session, Arthur Smith will be remembering the comic genius of Barry Cryer, in a conversation with Barry’s son Bob.
Robin Ince hosts a series of more intimate 'literatr lounge' sessions with Adam Boom sharing his secrets of comedy writing; Joel Morris revealing the mechanisms that make jokes work and what comedy can teach us about ourselves; writer and performer Dave Cohen on his comedy career leading up to his latest novel about an aspiring stand-up; comics Zahra Barri and Njambi McGrath talking about their debut novels and comedy historians Gemma and Robert Ross reappraising the roles of women in the Carry On Movies.
Full-priced day tickets are just £30, with concessions and tickets to individual sessions also available.
