Here We Go, again

The week's best comedy on TV, radio and streaming

Our pick of the comedy on TV, radio and streaming this week…:

Sunday January 28

THE DRY: This Irish comedy-drama aired on BritBox a couple of years ago – which meant almost nobody saw it – then on ITVX last year. Now it gets a network screening ahead of a second series later in the year. Roisin Gallagher stars as Shiv Sheridan, a woman recovering from alcoholism, returns home to Dublin to face a family who are not terribly supportive of her sobriety. Almost inevitably, given it's about an outwardly confident woman barely keeping her life together, it's been dubbed 'the Irish Fleabag'. ITV1 10.15pm

WING IT: Mike Wozniak plays host to a panel of improv all-stars in this new spontaneous game show being piloted by Radio 4. It also features Josie Lawrence, Steen Raskopoulos, Cariad Lloyd and Thomas Mayo. BBC Radio 4, 7.15pm

Monday January 29

RICHARD OSMAN'S HOUSE OF GAMES: Its' a 'redemption week' with previous contestants returning to see if they fare better this time around. Babatunde Aléshé and Sophie Duker represent the world of comedy, opposite telly presenters Gaby Roslin and Jeff Stelling. BBC Two 6pm

Tuesday January 30

JACK WHITEHALL: SETTLE DOWN: Whitehall's last stand-up tour got lukewarm reviews from the critics – two stars across most the broadsheets, three from Chortle – for holding back on the comic's promise of showing a more mature side now he's about to become a father. Judge for yourself if you didn't see it live, as it lands as a Netflix special today.

WHAT'S THE STORY, ASHLEY STORRIE?: In this new four-part series, the comedian documents the ups and downs of trying to make friends while being ‘weird’ - or having an undiagnosed autism to get all medical about it. Relating more to wizards, aliens and ghosts since childhood, she has developed her own ways of seemingly 'fitting in’, despite the confusing world of human relationships. BBC Radio 4, 11pm

Friday February 2

HERE WE GO: Tom Basden's funny and likeable sitcom returns for a second series with the writer starring alongside Jim Howick, Katherine Parkinson, Alison Steadman and Tori Allen-Martin as members of the extended, eccentric Jessop family. In this episode they head off boating…BBC One, 8pm.
