Chris Ramsey to tape his last stand-up tour

'I've got to learn the show again,' comic admits

Chris Ramsey is to tape his last stand-up show 20/20 – almost two years after the tour ended

The show – Ramsey’s biggest ever tour – was originally planned to run in the year the title alludes to, but was postponed by the Covid pandemic, and eventually ran until summer 2022.

Now he will be taping it as a special at London’s Royal Court Theatre on March 17 – although which broadcaster or other outlet will air it has not yet been disclosed. Tickets are available here.

Ramsey broke the news today on the top-rated Shagged Married Annoyed podcast he hosts with his wife Rosie.

He said: ‘Big news. Huge news. Massive news. He’s he's only bloody doing stand-up again.’

‘I'm filming a special, two shows in London on Sunday March 17 early show and a late show. When you record a special you've got to do two. When you’ve paid all the money to have the cameras and the crew and everyone in there, you’ve got to do two just in case.

‘It’s material from the last tour. I might throw some new stuff in there see how I feel... probably open with some new stuff.

‘I've got to learn the show again. It's really daunting. [But] I am looking forward to and stand-up again… it’ll be be very exciting.’

The taping is part of a run of gigs at the West London theatre being staged by Ramsey’s agent, Avalon, which also includes performances by David Baddiel, Ahir Shah, John Kearns and others.

Daniel Sloss is to film his latest show Can’t in Istanbul in March, also for an unnamed outlet. His previous shows Dark and Jigsaw were Netflix specials, while Socio and X are available on HBO and via his website. Hubris was was filmed in Glasgow's SEC but not yet released.
