...including tips on how to tell them

Northern Irish stand-up Sean Hegarty has sold a children’s joke book to publishers Nosy Crow.

The small-format title – Let Me Tell You a Joke: A First Joke Book With Funny Pictures – will be released in July,

It will feature 50 gags, illustrated by Jim Field, and will come with an audio in which Hegarty shares his advice on delivering comedy.

The comic won a competition to find Ireland's funniest joke in 2017 with ‘Do you think if one Domino’s Pizza place were to close down, all the rest would have to follow?!’ He has taken part in Ireland’s Got Talent and regularly puts jokes out on social media.

He told trade website The Bookseller: ‘A lot of blood (I got a paper cut shortly after writing the lion joke) and tears (of joy) have gone into making this amazingly funny book.

‘There is something for everyone, from small kids, to adult kids, to traffic wardens. Why not impress your friends with some of the greatest jokes never told.’
