Royal Court Theatre to host a stand-up season
London’s Royal Court Theatre is to host ten days of comedy featuring the likes of David Baddiel, John Kearns, Ahir Shah and Lucy Beaumont.
The 400-seat theatre – known for pioneering new theatrical works – has been booked out by producers Avalon from March 15 to 24 next year.
Kearns will kick off the season with his highly acclaimed stand-up show The Varnishing Days, followed by Shah’s Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning Ends.
Baddiel will present his last three stand-up shows over three consecutive nights, starting with Fame Not The Musical on March 21, followed by My Family Not The Sitcom and Trolls Not The Dolls.
These shows will be filmed, although it has not been announced where these will be released or broadcast.
Beaumont will close the season with her current tour The Trouble And Strife.
Each of the above comedians will perform two shows each night, at 7pm and 9.30pm.
The theatre will also host up-and-coming acts Ania Magliano and Garrett Millerick on a double bill on March 18 – and more acts are set to be announced. Tickets are on sale now.
