BBC One to air Dawn French's stand-up show
Dawn French’s latest stand-up show will air on BBC One this Christmas.
Running for 75 minutes, Dawn French Is A Huge Twat was recorded at the London Palladium and revolves around ‘the most excruciating gaffes and howlers she’s made across her 40-year career’.
They include an ‘epic fail’ in front of Sir Kenneth Branagh, a toe-curling Abba audition for a role in Mamma Mia and anecdotes from her Comic Strip and French & Saunders days. Read our four-star review of the show here.
French’s previous stand-up show, 30 Million Minutes, aired on BBC Four on New Year's Eve, 2016.
The comic has also written a companion book to her latest tour, The Twat Files, detailing her ‘mistakes, mishaps and mess-ups’.
The stand-up special was unveiled as part of the BBC’s festive schedule today. There will also be Christmas editions of Not Going Out, Bad Education, Mrs. Brown’s Boys, Tom Basden family sitcom Here We Go, Live At The Apollo (with Tom Allen, Thanyia Moore and Lloyd Griffith) and Ghosts – bringing the hit series to an end after four years.
