MANCHESTER: Another day, another new act final in North West England… The Frog & Bucket’s long-running Beat The Frog competition concludes its 2023 World Series with Qasim Akhtar, Alex Bertulis-Fernandes, Caryl Burke, Adam Evan, Kevin Finn, Peter Jones, Rheanon Lee, Daniel McCreanor, Blank Peng and Al Stevenson all vying for the title.

Tuesday November 7

LONDON: Phil Ellis's Excellent Comedy Show is in absolutely no danger of falling foul of the advertising standards people. The comic’s giddily silly show comes to the Soho Theatre for the rest of the week. Review.

ABERDEEN: The Big Fab Comedy Show, the touring line-up show produced by Edinburgh's Gilded Balloon, begins another week of gigs at the Tivoli Theatre tonight, followed by shows in  Dunfermline, Dundee and Galashiels on subsequent days. The line-up includes  Kiri Pritchard-McLean, Shetlands comic Marjolein Robertson, So You Think You're Funny? new act winner Joshua Bethania and  BBC Radio Scotland regular  Jay Lafferty.

Wednesday November 8

GLASGOW: Eddie Izzard kicks off a new tour, reprising and remixing almost four decades of material. ‘In the first 35 years of my stand-up career, I came up with many weird and crazy comedy stories,’ she said. ‘The ones I like the best will be in my 2023 live Remix Tour.’ Eddie Izzard tour dates and tickets.

DUNDEE: Scottish stand-up Mark Nelson embarks on his first UK and Ireland tour, which culminates at the  at the King's Theatre as part of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival in March. He was named Comedian's Comedian Of The Year 2021 in a three-way tie with  Jo Caulfield and Ninia Benjamin and hosts the BBC Radio Scotland panel show The Good, The Bad & The Unexpected.
