ARCHIVE ON 4: THE MONKHOUSE FILES: Bob Monkhouse was not only a prolific performer and writer, he amassed the largest personal comedy archive in the UK. Fellow writer Bob Sinfield visited Monkhouse’s home in 2000 and was shown around the purpose-built archive in the grounds of his Bedfordshire home. In this programme, which first aired om Radio 4 in 2000, Monkhouse shared anecdotes of working with comedy legends – including Tony Hancock, Kenneth Williams, Jack Benny and the parsimonious Bob Hope – by delving into his own journals and playing examples from his colossal collection, which contained more than 36,000 videotapes. Radio 4 Extra, 8pm

Thursday September 21

TASKMASTER: It's back! And taking part in this 16th series are Julian Clary, Lucy Beaumont, Sam Campbell, Sue Perkins and Susan Wokoma. As well as Alex Horne and Greg Davies, of course. In the opening episode, Greg slaps Alex because of peas. Lucy marvels at a canned blindfold. And everyone tries to put a big duck in a lake. Channel 4, 9pm

SEX EDUCATION: The fourth and final series drops today, with Netflix sniggering: 'Get your tissues ready, let's finish together.' As shown in a teaser released last week Otis Milburn (Asa Butterfield) and Eric Effiong (Ncuti Gatwa) are moving from Moordale Secondary School to Cavendish Sixth Form College. Meanwhile, Gillian Anderson returns as sex therapist Dr Jean Milburn, who has a new baby and new career as a radio agony aunt. And Schitt’s Creek star Dan Levy joins the cast as Wiley’s tutor in America.

MINX: The second series of this raunchy comedy set at a 1970s erotic magazine for women lands on Paramount+. Ophelia Lovibond stars.

Friday September 22

WHAT'S FUNNY ABOUT… Victoria Pile and Tamsin Greig tell Peter Fincham and Jon Plowman how they made their cult Channel 4 hospital comedy, Green Wing, mixing surreal comedy with tender and serious moments. Radio 4, 11.30am

STILL UP: This new 'almost romantic' Apple TV+ comedy is set in the after-hours world of insomniacs Danny and Lisa, played by Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts. While the world sleeps they stay connected and talk for hours, despite never meeting. The ensemble cast also includes Blake Harrison, Samantha Spiro and Rich Fulcher.
