Colin From Accounts scoops three Logies
Colin From Accounts has swept the board at the Logie Awards – the most prestigious accolades for Australian television
The show was named most outstanding comedy, with creators and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer won most outstanding actor and actress.
Collecting the comedy prize, Dyer thanked streamer Binge, which aired the series down under, saying: ‘They commissioned this and let us have so much space and do so many things that we didn't think we would get away with.'
Brammall – her real-life husband – thanked everyone behind the show as well as his fellow nominees, saying ‘you’re all outstanding as far as I’m concerned, but not as outstanding as me.’
And on picking up his solo award he said: ‘My main thanks obviously goes to my co-writer, co-showrunner, she’s also my wife and my muse…. I’m just trying to keep up, so this helps.’
And Dyer said of hers: ‘I really just want to thank Paddy because he made me sit down and write this [show] probably because I was being annoying in the house. If anyone could find a partner half as amazing as him, then you are going to have a great life.’
Meanwhile, comedian Kitty Flanagan won the Logie for most popular actress for her titular role in Fisk, a comedy-drama about a high-end contracts lawyer.
And the topical panel show Have You Been Paying Attention? was named most popular comedy programme, as voted by viewers, taking the accolade for the fourth time.
Elsewhere there were awards for Home And Away, Gogglebox Australia and MasterChef Australia among others. There’s a full list of winners here.
Colin From Accounts is still available on BBC iPlayer in the UK, while Fisk will be coming to ITVX at some point.
